Selecting a race is critical. The racial type changes the effectiveness of certain items. More effective items provide a greater benefit or have a greater growth. Less effective items provide a reduced capability. For example, a race that is more effective in Mines will have planets that produce metal faster.
Terrans do the best on Fertile planets, and the worst on hostile, vacuum and gas planets.
Chitters do the best on Arid planets, and the worst on hostile, vacuum and gas planets.
Saurians do the best on Primitive planets, and the worst on arid, hostile and vacuum planets.
Silicates do the best on Hostile planets, and the worst on fertile, vacuum and gas planets.
Methenes do the best on Gas planets, and the worst on fertile, primitive and ice planets.
|Racial Modifier Type||Modifier Effect|
|Astrogation||Increases or decreases the distance from the planet the race can travel. Due to improved computational skills, the race can navigate over a longer distance.|
|Black Ops Training||Increases or decreases the quality of Black Ops Training|
|Factories||Increases or decreases the planet's resource production of Manufactured Products|
|Fleet Detection||Increases or decreases the ability to detect incoming fleets.|
|Hydroponics||Increases or decreases the planet's resource production of Consumables|
|Military Training||Increases or decreases the combat skill of planetary armies and troops on the marine transport.|
|Mines||Increases or decreases the planet's resource production of Refined Metals|
|Planetary Defense Base (PDB) Sensors/Shields/Weapons||Increases or decreases the PDB statistics when the item is built. The race is better or worse at building quality PDB.|
|Population Growth||Increases or decreases the planet's population growth. Therefore, the population will increase either faster or slower.|
|Power Plants||Increases or decreases the planet's resource production of Energy Units|
|Security||Increases or decreases the government corruption along with the planetside detection of Black Ops Teams.|
|Ship Propulsion||Increases or decreases the Ship Propulsion statistics when the item is built. Therefore, any ship produced will be either faster or slower.|
|Ship Sensors/Shields/Weapons||Increases or decreases the ship's statistics when the item is built. The race is better or worse at building quality ships.|
|Shipyard||Increases or decreases the Shipyard production speed at which ships and PDB are built.|
|Warehouse Management||Increases or decreases the planet's maximum resource storage along with modifying all cargo ships storage capacities. The race is better or worse at managing their resources.|
The Terrans are a humanoid race which represents the norm. The Terrans are the race against which all other races are measured. They are balanced in the arts of galactic colonization, development, research, production and conquest. Their ability to perform all tasks well makes them feared throughout the galaxy.

The Chitters are an insectoid race that are organized and adept at creating and storing large amounts of manufactured products. Use to working in large coordinated groups, they are highly organized and excel at security. This means that the Chitters have less government corruption and can spot attacking black ops teams quicker. Their organizational skills also allow them to store resources more efficiently on cargo ships and on their planets. This same builder mentality allows the Chitters to quickly produce ships and PDB systems. However, the ships they produce are of a poorer combat quality and travel slower. Being communal in nature, they see the disruption of black ops missions as something to be avoided, thus they tend to be do poorly with black ops training.
Additional Chitters Lore
The Saurians are a warlike reptilian race. They are known for their high level of military and black ops training as well as for developing the best ship combat systems. To better feed their armies, the Saurians are also capable hydroponics farmers. Being aggressive by nature, the Saurian do not focus on defense and are less capable at producing PDB systems. By focusing primarily on ship combat systems, they have not spent as much time developing quality ship propulsion systems which have resulted in ships slower than most. Surprisingly, for a warlike race, they are not very well organized and the race is poorly administered. Thus their planet and cargo resource storage is not as good as other races.
Additional Saurians Lore
The Silicates are a silicon-based life form which is rock-like and defensive in nature. Their strong association with earth permits them to be effective at producing precious metals and metallic products. Their defensive nature has made them effective builders of PDB systems. They have a strong sense or security which means they are adept at detecting invading black ops teams. This strong security also helps to keep down the government corruption as well. Being concerned with their defense, they excel at being able to detect incoming fleets. This same outlook has made them less effective at producing ships. In addition, the Silicates are not expansion oriented. This is primarily due to their slow population growth rate and poor use of ship propulsion units.
Additional Silicates Lore
The Methenes are a gaseous race that are natural explorers. As explorers, they have an affinity for astrogation, fast ship building and speedier ships. Held together by strong energy bonds, their physical makeup allows them to easily understand and produce energy. Like the Silicates, the Methenes have a slow population growth rate. Since they are always traveling, they are not effective at defending their home worlds, and as such build low quality PDB systems. Because they have an outward looking persona, they do not have a strong black ops training program.
